My Spanish Mustang had an unexpected injury the morning of the Carriage House Farm Schooling Show so I loaded my only Coggins tested horse in my trailer and asked the show secretary if I could ride my gaited horse in place of my Spanish Mustang using the NWHA Intro tests. The Show Secretary cheerfully accommodated us. Our tests were ridden in Carriage House Farm’s beautiful and spacious indoor arena with dust-free rubberized footing. The judge was a bit unsure as to how to judge a gaited horse among the trotting horses in the Intro division. I told her not to worry about it, I was just glad to be riding at the show and not have to scratch. I valued any feedback she offered as to where we were at in our training.
